Weekend's diving and surfing

This weekend's waves were bigger than predicted, so our diving at Voodoo and Shark Point was relocated to Shiprock and Bare Island, respectively. The good news is that the surf was up for our second surfing lesson.

Here are the pictures from Shiprock and the pictures from Bare Island. We don't have any pictures of us surfing.

What level of surfing is achieved after 2 lessons? Are you lying, sitting, kneeling or standing?

I'm consistently able to stand and surf in on a wave that's already broken.

Riding an unbroken wave is another matter. There's a more tricky issue of timing. Stand too soon or don't paddle hard enough and the wave passes beneath you. Wait too long before standing and the nose of your board decides it wants to see what's under the water at the base of the wave.

Hope you have enjoyed your surfing. I do love surfing and all I need a Big Fish surfboard and obviously a beautiful beach.
