I just learned that Dave Thomas, one of the founding members of Carleton's School of Computer Science is giving a talk at the University of Sydney tomorrow entitled
Hey! You! Get On To My Cloud. I lost track of him for a while, but it looks like Dave is now Chairman of Bedarra Research Labs. I can't tell exactly what it is they do from their web page.

You think they do research on that beautiful island?
Is it just me or do a disproportionately high number of famous people with last name Thomas have Dave as their first name? There's even another software developer writing about agile programming with the same name.
From his web page it appears to me that what they do is give talks. Just last week Dave was in Germany giving a speech at Eclipse Summit.
In another coincidence of names, a David Wood (that I don't know) also gave a talk at that conference.
Didn't Bruce McCullough write a song about this?
