I vaguely remember them getting rescued. Though I can't remember how they would have dealt with the required changes in Gilligan's character to allow it to happen. Surely his mis-steps will keep them on the island yet again.
Unknown fact: Gilligan was Al Pacino's inspiration for the line "Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in."
